1. The sea horses are the only aquatic animals in which not the female but the male one gives birth and take care of their young ones. They lay about 1,500 eggs at once.
2. Have you seen an electric eel? An Electric eel conducts electricity equivalent to the amount of electricity required to glow 10 electricity bulbs at the same time.
3. Sea sponges are the only living organisms that have no brain, no eyes, no heart, no mouth.
4. Dolphins sleep with one eye open and half brain active to alert themselves from predators, and other dangerous objects.
5. There are about 228,450 species of aquatic organisms found and about 2 million more are yet to be discovered.
6. The existence of Jellyfish is from very old times. They are older than dinosaurs. The oldest fossil of a jellyfish is found back to 650 million years.
7. At an average, an adult catfish has 100,000 taste buds.
8. Have you ever heard about Gulper eel? They have a huge jaw and a slick body. A normal Gulper Eel can grow up to six feet.
9. An adult whale produces a sound of 188 decibels making it the loudest sound producing the animal in the world. The sound also produced by a jet (120-140 dB) is less than a whale.
10. Some species of Penguins propose their mates by gifting them pebbles.
